"The Gospel According to Rev. Cheryl" Congratulations to our Postmaster General Mr. John Potter have you heard the news? That Management has launched a new campaign about how important it is for us to wash our hands. I don't know but is this not the same Postmaster General Mr. John Potter who was so obdurate to take away our five minute wash up time during the previous A.P.W.U. Contract Negotiations. PMG Potter's comments made the Wall Street Journal in 2001. He voices his opinion in the Journal to discontinue this past practice during the last contract negotiation. Is he pulling the will-o-the wisp move? The bottom line is this; we all need to wash our hands! Our Postmaster General Mr. John Potter must have had a change of heart. I can tell by how our lower Managers are so adamant about having every one sign off on this said safety talk titled "Hand washing Helps" which reads as following: Wait!! Before you touch that dirty doorknob, which can lead to Rhino virus just think about the thousands of hands that have already handled it since it was last cleaned. The dirty truth is that many of the things we touch every day such as telephones, if you happen to work in the office environment is tainted with bacteria, viruses, and germs galore. It's sad to say but, there are still those who just don't wash their hands. This practice has to stop! If not for other people's sake, then what about for your own good hygiene, and good health. I hope that this does not have any barring on our upcoming A.P.W.U. National Contracts Negotiation. Hygienically speaking, Postmaster General Mr. John Potter if you have forgot let me remind you that if not for any thing else what about for our family's sake. We work with dirty mail from around the world everyday, and for you to state that Postal Worker did not need article 8 section 9 in our National Contract is Contractually wrong. What's next?
